I had medical issues last year, so when I was given the OK to exercise by my cardiologist, I looked at several gyms and joined In Shape Fitness three months ago. I’ve belonged to many gyms all over the world and In Shape has truly first-class facilities.
I knew I wanted to work with a trainer to ensure I was exercising safely and properly. I met Kyle (Anderson) and immediately knew we were a terrific match. He instinctively pushes me just enough to make the workouts hard, without becoming grueling. After each workout I’m more motivated than I was before to continue my fitness journey and improve my health.
Initially we trained together twice a week (with cardio afterwards) and this has now increased to five times a week as my cardiovascular fitness and confidence have grown.
The InBody scan is a great tool to help you keep track of your progress – my lean muscle mass has increased while I’ve dropped body fat – the holy grail of fitness! My cardiologist is impressed with how far I have come in just three short months.
Training with Kyle has increased my enthusiasm for both strength training and cardio and that’s been key to accomplishing my goals – I have so much more energy now.
My advice to anyone thinking about joining In Shape is that there are 168 hours in a week - commit to putting yourself first for just three of those hours for the next twelve weeks. If you do, you’ll find your clothes will fit better, those stairs at work will be a breeze and you’ll have developed healthier eating habits. Just three hours a week will change your life – trust me – I’m living proof.

My husband and I joined In Shape Fitness in November of 2021 after retiring. We decided it was time to take care of ourselves so we could enjoy an active, healthy retirement. I have always been intimidated by gyms, but was determined to try. It was immediately clear In Shape was different - and that difference begins with the staff and management. I had no idea how to use any of the equipment nor what exercises would be good for me, so I started with a trainer right away. I train with Cody. He is incredibly caring and knowledgeable, adjusting my sessions on the spot to address issues that may arise. For that matter, ALL the trainers, staff, and even other members at In Shape are friendly and supportive. My goal is to improve stamina, strength, and endurance, and stay consistent with my workouts. I like using the machines, but also enjoy learning exercises I can do on my own. I continue to see improvements, which inspires me to keep going. To my surprise I actually LOOK FORWARD to working out! After our sessions you’ll often find us enjoying the sauna and massage chairs, then grabbing a recovery shake at the shake bar. My husband and I are excited to continue a lifestyle full of activity, good nutrition & healthy mindsets!

I’ve worked out in gyms most of my life except for the last six years of my office career. After I retired I decided to join In Shape Fitness with my wife and we hired a trainer. I currently weight train with Cody who pushes me to reach my strength and fat loss goals. He’s amazing. I love STAYING CONSISTENT with my workouts and it inspires me to think about nutrition. Cody always finds exercises that work for me given my overall condition. It is satisfying to see the progress over time. Thanks to our exercise and healthy lifestyle we are rarely sick. My wife and I enjoy cooking and really appreciate occasional treats when we have them. Even when on vacation we keep up with our training as planned out by Cody. If I can give anyone reading this advice it’s “Don’t wait!!” I know life and careers are busy but you need to find time for you. You won’t regret it.

I have been a member of InShape since high school. I played sports my entire life and ran my first half marathon just last year, which lead to a serious knee injury.
Once the gym reopened, and recovery and home workouts, I was hesitant to return. However, with Jen as my trainer, we’ve transformed my body so quickly within the past couple of months.
Before I began training with Jen, I was a chronic runner and low-carb dieter. I was burnt out, frustrated and wasn’t seeing the results I so desperately wanted. Jen has pushed me out of my comfort zone. She has gotten me to temporarily trade in my running shoes for strength training; to not only reshape my body but most importantly, reshape my mindset. This change wasn’t easy for me. I felt vulnerable about giving up cardio and completely changing my diet. In turn, Jen’s patience, understanding, and years of experience, has helped me develop such a healthier perspective on fueling, nourishing, and moving my body. Her profound dedication towards my goals has left me in awe.
As a full-time nurse in grad school, my daily work outs with Jen and the SGT training crew have been an invaluable outlet during this pandemic. Working with Jen every week has been such a gift for me, and more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. I am so grateful for her and for every trainer at InShape who have collaboratively supported and motivated me throughout this empowering fitness journey.

I’ve been working out on and off since college but never really stuck with my goals until working with Aris. Working with him has kept me accountable and allowed me to better my health. At this point I’ve lost a total of 40 pounds and have been able to actually keep the weight off while developing healthier eating habits and a consistent workout schedule. Not only that I’ve gained more muscle, confidence and knowledge through everything Aris has taught me and continues to teach me. I believe that anyone who gets the privilege of working with Aris will benefit greatly. It’s been a pleasure working with him and I will continue to hit my goals with him as my trainer.

One of the hardest things to do in life is to ask for help—especially when you know it’s possible you may not succeed. Yet, one of the best decisions I have ever made has been seeking out the support of Brian G here at In-Shape. While I was able to start my fitness journey before signing up for personal training, I became stagnant. Brian has helped me find focus, set achievable goals, and motivate me to continue to improve myself.
Brian and others at In-Shape create an environment of support that focuses on pushing yourself to levels you were not sure you could achieve. Since joining, I have lost nearly thirty-five more pounds, improved my cardiovascular health, gained flexibility and strength, as most importantly, improved my self-confidence immeasurably. One of the most important factors about working with Brian is his willingness to impart knowledge to me. While our sessions are productive, his ability to show me how to work hard and to eat properly outside of our time together is what helps me continue to make smart choices that eventually lead to long-term goal success. When the gym opened up again, I knew it was time to start weight training again. It was something I lacked during the closing and being away from the facility. I didn’t know Jen personally but I had heard she had a long-standing background in nutrition and fitness. Rob thought she would be a good fit for me; and he couldn’t have been more correct. I signed up for twice a week and quickly jumped to three times a week. I found that Jen is such a motivator that I couldn’t get enough. I wanted a change in my body and I wanted to learn more about nutrition to make a difference in my life. For me it wasn’t so much about weight loss as it was to gain strength back and look and feel overall fit.
I have always stayed away from a lot of core because of a bad back. I know that is the exact opposite of what I should be doing and with Jen’s knowledge of the body and her encouragement she has given me the confidence to work on exercises that not only strengthen the core for abdominals but my back. I really feel great! I was always afraid of doing something wrong. Now training with Jen she has taught me the correct form, along with technique. I now have the confidence and great results; It’s been an amazing experience working with Jen. Learning more about nutrition has been eye opening and I can see and feel the difference in my body already.

Growing up I have always been into playing sports and being active. As I started to enter the “working world”, finding time to exercise became extremely challenging. As a result, I stopped working out for a few months. This led me to an unhealthy lifestyle. I became very skinny, my eating habits were subpar, I was not drinking any water and my energy levels were extremely low. I finally decided to take hold of my life and better my day-to-day routine. Finally, I began training with Andie, who completely changed my life. She taught me how to eat properly throughout my busy day, educated me on Dotfit supplements and taught me how to lift weights properly and efficiently. Andie was able to train me to train myself, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. Within one month of working with her, I have seen insane changes in my body composition. I’ve been working out fairly consistently for four years, but found my motivation severely lacking during and after quarantine. I decided to start training with Aris to keep me accountable, especially with the winter and holiday season coming up. I have lost 8 pounds so far (even through Christmas). I had always enjoyed the classes and utilizing the machines on my own schedule, but it was time to add a new level to my fitness regimen. Catherine helped me get into shape for my son’s wedding. Her motivation, coaching and guidance have been life changing for me. She has made me much stronger. Running 5K races became a little hobby this year, and she helped me shave 10 minutes off my time! The energy, strength and mental clarity that working out gives me is extremely important to the quality of my life and gives me a positive outlook that carries me through my day. My hope is to add more gym time in 2016, especially with your new “jungle gym” for grown-ups (Catherine had me try it last week). Thanks for the encouragement Julia…and for Catherine, or as I call her…”Coach”!

GOAL: Restore Muscle Tone & Function after Atrophy from Prolonged IllnessTime to reach goal: 6 Months Dave Butler was an absolutely fantastic trainer!! I came to Dave, after an illness, with really poor muscle strength. He worked with my limitations in such a way that I felt stronger even after the first week with him. Every time I left him I was stronger and stronger and able to do things that I had been completely unable to do just months before. Dave was the perfect combination of tough and fun. He never let me slack off but rather kept pushing me to my limits which not only grew my physical strength but my confidence as well. He gave me a new lease on life and I cannot ever thank him enough!!!! To sum it up, Dave is an incredibly caring, smart, and highly skilled personal trainer! Thank you Dave for everything you did for me!
GOAL: Weight Loss, Strength & Muscle Tone Time to reach goal: Long-term client, still in training This was me at my volunteer job before my commitment to get control of myself when I started working with Dave Moore. Yesterday, this is me in a bathing suit. My friends made me pose for this picture because they were so shocked (of course, I think the angle of the photo is helping me look thinner!). Even if I am unable to continue training, I will forever carry Dave’s lessons and encouragement.
GOAL: Weight Loss Time to reach goal: Still in Training since February 2013 I played basketball when I was in college, and I was in pretty good shape. But that was 18 years and over 100 pounds ago. When it got to the point where I couldn't see my feet when I looked down, I knew it was time to do something. But I hadn't been in a gym in years. The idea of trying to get back into shape was a little scary, but working out at In Shape has been a blast. My trainer, Sean Brown, is a great guy, a great teacher, and he makes sure I take no shortcuts. After seven months, I can see the difference, I can feel the difference, and others have noticed it too (like my doctor, who's thrilled). I know I still have more work to do, but thanks to In Shape, I'm off to a great start.
