David Moore
Certified Personal Trainer
Dave is a recent graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Completion of his degree was contingent upon a 300 hour externship, and having been a long-term member, he was aggressive in his pursuit of convincing us to take him under our wing here at In Shape, and we were pleased to have him. Following graduation, he went on to obtain his CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) designation from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Growing up as an overweight child with poor eating habits, Dave turned to his love of sports in high school to fuel a change in his fitness and nutrition habits, and through his sport specific training, was finally able to lose the weight he struggled with as a young adult. This transition helped to develop his love of fitness, and has allowed him to achieve and maintain a healthy weight and strong body. He is now an avid snowboarder and travels all over New England to ride every year.
Dave is a also an active member of the Exercise Science Club, and has participated in multiple studies led by his professors, that explore the ability to transform the human body through physical fitness. Through his own experiences and struggles with weight management, Dave is a firm believer that with sound nutrition and incorporating a variety of exercises that condition both the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, anyone can achieve their goals of living a healthier and happier lifestyle.
His welcoming, patient, enthusiastic and kind demeanor makes him a welcomed addition to our talented staff.
