Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph H. Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve overall health.
Pilates focuses on engaging the mind with the body to create exercises that involve the whole body. The focus is on the CORE muscles with deep coordinated breathing. Pilates strengthens the core, improves balance, increases coordination, and decreases stress. The exercises are relatively safe, low impact, and appropriate for all ages and skill levels.

The Pilates Studio at In Shape Fitness Center is excited to offer various Pilates training techniques. By appointment only, the studio offers private to small group Reformer, Chair, and Tower classes. The studio is located within the club on the second floor.
